We are the Artemis Generation 🚀🌖🛰👩🏼‍🚀

Like our parents watched Apollo send humans to walk on the moon 50 years ago, by 2023, a woman and man will return to the moon. Artemis named after the twin sister of Apollo, is the Goddess of the Moon.

The mission:

Artemis I- Launch Nov 22, 2021 Three week unmanned test flight

Artemis II- September 2023 Ten day test mission with four astronauts

Artemis III- October 2025 Orion docks with Gateway (lunar outpost) then first woman and man board a reusable lander to the surface of the Moon for seven days conducting experiments.

Commercial partners like SpaceX will deliver equipment and robotics to the moon for experiments. In 2009 millions of tons of ice water was discovered on the Moon. This ice can be extracted and purified for water, separated oxygen for breathing or nitrogen for fuel.

The Moon missions will prepare and propel us to Mars... and beyond.

More than 100 robotic explorers from more than half a dozen nations have since sent spacecraft to the Moon. Nine crewed missions have flown to the Moon and back. 12 humans have walked on the Moon, last time was 1972.

It‘s a great time to be alive! Our nations children can look up and say “I want to go!” #space4women #girlsinstem #womeninmetrology #womenengineers
